Dale Parriott is filmed riding a motor scooter he recently restored. Andy Anderson originally built it in 1961 specifically to tackle the difficult terrain that would later become the Slickrock Bike Trail. It was built using parts from a gas-powered Maytag washing machine.

MOAB -- Dick Wilson planned the Slickrock Trail for motorized trail bikes. Thirty years later, 99 percent of trail riders are supplying their own power. Long before events such as the Canyonlands Fat Tire Festival, the 24 Hours of Moab bicycle race and Kokopeli Trail were established to entice mountain bikers, Wilson envisioned small (50cc to 90cc) trail-bike motorcycles bouncing and zipping over the rocks.
